County town of Leitrim – Carrick on Shannon
In 1613 Carrick on Shannon was granted a charter by King James I. 2013 is its 400th birthday. With plenty of things to do, see and experience we hope you will enjoy your free morning in Carrick on Shannon.
An optional lecture will take place in the Dock theatre on ‘The Journey of Leitrim Emigrants’ This afternoon we will visit the local St Mary’s GAA Club to attend an exhibition of our national sport Gaelic Football and Hurling.
There will also be an opportunity to meet with some of the members, players and volunteers over a cup of tea

Tonight we go down memory lane and enjoy a night with one of Ireland’s most popular showband stars at the Landmark Hotel.
